Healing - what does that mean?

Healing

Fascinating word isn't it? but what does it actually mean?

Well Iv done hoards of research during my life in to all sorts of different religious and philosophical areas including what the basis for spirituality or our understanding for this as human beings is.

It is an incredibly interesting area! that is without doubt.
My personal feelings regarding God (or - it! as I describe this) is that there is a basis for *it,  but evidence is a tough one to show of *it's existence.

So I feel this is a good place to start.

God, Spirituality & Healing

Now don't get the wrong idea about me, I'm not some raving christian or Muslim, or part of any religion, so how is it that i even have a concept of God? and why does my personal view point regarding god and its existence figure so strongly?

Am I NUTS?

How could I - anybody subscribe to an idea so beyond evidence of any nature to the existence of an over all being of some kind, that binds this Universe and all in it, and beyond?.........this is starting to really reek of schitzophrenia isnt it!

Now I'm in the Music business, Iv put together my own offerings into the very points that I'm rasining into my music, and I FEEL (thats a great word!) that my understanding of the *it - God is translated through what I do.

This is one seriously difficult subject to write (Blog). So maybe I Should just get on with it and spit out what I want to say.

Healing is a profound thing. Iv found that it can mean anything from recovery from illness, to cracking a huge smile..
Interesting that a huge smile infact makes the most disease stricken patients in any hospitol on this planet feel so much better.

before my own mother died, she was ill too, she suffered with severe depression, staying in a country that seemed so alien to where she had traveled from, a failed marriage, and a bunch of crazy kids coming home and speaking a language! that was seriously different to what she spoke. She suffered with incredibly intense migraines, and was for the most part alone - apart from having me and my brothers and sisters.

But hey! crack a joke, or just smile and her world was dramatically improved.

A few years ago I explored the mental health journals written way back in the 40's and 50's at Duke and Princeton University in America, and found that research had already been done and continues into E.S.P (Extra Sensory Perception). To anyone that doesn't know what that is, its being psychic, or reading thoughts, or moving objects with the power of thought, or knowing what card is going to be picked, or has been picked from a random deck.....

I found that folks suffering with what I look at as an extra heightened sense of perception (mental health patients) whom are in most severe cases completely detached from the world that we would determine as being NORMAL? are infact the very people that have these extra sensory perceptions.

So we Heal them? with Drugs that completly numb the mind and the way that brain chemistry functions - well in short we give them severe irreparable brain damage?

So much for Healing?

Shouldn't we be piling shit loads of money into researching every thing we can, rather than on wars and all the shit that comes along with that?

Ideal world?
Words are funny things...

So back to the point, Healing?

What is it? is it a combination of faith? or belief? (those words really are just huge leaps of blindness in their make up) - so is it a personal thing? and can something personal be PROVEN? that's another weird word.

So here you go,

What is HEALING to YOU? in your best understanding?

Does writing a blog for example, in answer to this blog make you feel healed?

And the fact that someone else may read your words, and give your personality the exposure enough to feel as though you are helping them,

- or is it that all this is to help you as an individual - to understand yourself?

Write me? Lets figure this out!

Walk the Walk? Talk the Talk? What do you think?

Good talkers are bad listeners! or are they?..

Iv got a few friends like I'm sure we all have that are great listeners...and we really value their ears at those really vital/crazy times when we really need to share something....no matter what it is..Also, the other side to this, being the good talkers....being caught in those brain numbing situations that require a very quick Witt and no fear in projecting it, fantastic! Conjuring up memories of I'm so glad I know you, and glad that you were there when that happened!'

I know this guy who iv only just got to know recently who has his own semi label, and has been in the industry for a mind blowing 30 years, managing artists and running his label.  And believe me he's a great talker too, he could quite comfortably talk the knickers off a nun!
But, (ha! you knew that was coming!)He's not a very good listener?  So what! I hear you all thinking, and shouting!! So fu***ng what!!!

Well, I'm picking on this character really to highlight something that might be some food for thought.....If he was a better listener, could he have made his Billion by now? Instead of making sweeping statements that sound great, but deliver nothing in the long run.
The term, 'empty promises' springs to mind, to better describe what I'm outlining..

(I'm picking on the record industry purely because its one of the very few trades that can either make you! or ruin you in a matter of moments!)

Too many talkers, and not enough do-ers also springs to mind. I think (personally) that if this cat was to really cut out the cheap coffee and listen a bit more to the world around him, he could have retired by now....but through his own inability to not take stock of any situations fully! (not listening!) - has led to him being bankrupt by hundreds of thousands of pounds! Signing artists through ego rather than weighing up the returns etc, and ignoring really good art because any attention to detail was missed in regards to material that has passed through his fingers! (not listening to the material.)

Also,
he admits to not being an artist at all, but then in the next breath he proclaims to be a business man? which again makes no sense after what is described above.
So anyway, back to the point, how has this man bumbled his way through the last 30 years? Good talking?..Are good/fast talkers good listeners?..Are they really able to take stock of any situation they become involved with?..

Ego is a very positive thing in moderation, but unbalanced can prove disastrous...And i think that many of you that read this will know exactly what i mean, as well as knowing a few.

Now the flip side,Good listeners! Are they any better? Do they actually get off there ass's and get anything done?..I say (personally) maybe!

Maybe an equal balance is required, one of each, in every pair?..or would that make this colorful and energetic world really boring?.

What do you think?..

Meeting the Ultimate pain in the ASS!

I just recently joined a course, just keep my network healthy, and my brain sharp. I met a guy on this course who used to be somewhat of a heavy weight in yester - years industry, a time spanning the late 70's - 80's and mid nineties.

So, this guy was responsible for attracting Major label signings of groups and artists that were pretty much turned away by most of the major labels. Meeting him as you can imagine should be somewhat of an almost spiritual experience, .....

well was it, I hear you asking???

Was it boat! this guy is the most annoying, most ignorant, and has the worst memory of anybody I have ever met...The only thing really oooozing off this guy was pure negativity. Very disappointing...seriously. So you may be thinking like I did at first that this guy must have done way too many drugs in his after teen life, lots of parties all over and all that....in fact, that's not the case at all.

This is something that we all find, doesn't matter who we are or what walk of life we may have graduated from, it is these immortal words that seem to be uttered everywhere in any industry -

'its who you know, that counts more than what you know'

So anyway, this got me thinking about this guy, this successful manager from yester - year, could it be this,...

Could it be that this guy was just lucky to have had a network of friends (lets say public school friends) that just seemed to be in positions of power at the time of all of his successes? So infact ZERO Talent on his part, or even knowledge of his job were needed?.
That's what I think,..I think this guy has just been fumbling and farting his way through life, and then somehow being bailed out of trouble because of his friends.

There is no doubt in my mind, that this guy is a complete idiot...absolutely no doubt what so ever..I just find this guy TRULY unbeliveable.

So, I would love to hear of the most craziest experiences you've had, you dont have to name names, I just think it would be seriously funny to read.

I want the juicey stuff, so get get typing..
Seriously looking forward to your replies..

What is Music? Take a look at this.....by Soul.S

Solstice the Album Sampler
Solstice the Album Sampler
What is music?..

OK people, that is my question, and I'm not looking for an answer, but feel free to post.

Iv looked at many studies into what exactly music is?, and well, its turned up more questions than answers?..But i think that's a good thing.
Is music something that we are innately born with? Is it an ability that we have b4 we leave the womb?..or even before then?  Now i know that music is, 'in our reality' sound that has been directed and harmonised and tuned etc.  But what about that ability?..iv known people that 'seem' to have been born with the ability to pick up any instrument (including the voice) and play it, even with no prior training what so ever?.

I know people to, as I'm sure a lot of you do, that can pretty much put there voice to any genre of music completely....Any of you whom appreciate Indian music will undoubtedly know of Mohammad Rafi. One example of an artist who could sing any Indian song, any genre, and pretty much any language/Indian dialect.Another would be El Cameron De La Isla, the Spanish flamenco singer who could sing it all, and even gave birth to a new flamenco. There are so many, from all over the world. My youngest brother has an innate ability with mathematics?..His whole world and understanding is shaped and understood through numbers.

Was he born like that?

Well, i know that in my family this ability is present generationaly, so does that mean that i have the mathematics gene in my family?.Just as, Jimi Hendrix, or every member of the Beatles etc, etc, for instance, did they have the 'music gene' in there's?. Now i know what the bright ones out of all of you are thinking, maths and music are intricatley linked.  And you'd be very accurate about that too. Music? In this Universe that we inhabit, sound and light are constantly surrounding us, some with wisdom have likened light and sound, to that of 'God' itself.  Constantly around and present.  Light and sound are frequencies, that shape our realities, or our perceptions and the world and universe as we understand it.Our eyes can only see what our brains have been conditioned to accept, so what else are our eyes seeing that our brains haven't been 'yet' taught to accept.

There are many many different 'things' and i couldn't tell you what they are, because i really don't know what they are. But there are many theories that try to explain this, and have been theorised, talked about and debated since the dawn of Humanity. So Music,Is a song something that is 'divinely' inspired?. Or is it something that we learn socially?..Or could it be a mixture of the two?..i.e: divinely inspired, but translated and materialised through our experiences.Who could say,Is it something learned socially as we grow and connect with the world around us.

I tend to accept that, in the way of expressing ones self in the current world, but i also accept that the whole idea of 'music' is something that is beyond explanation, and that is completely limitless and infinite, but isn't that god?..or our understanding of it?.

What do you think?.

Solstice the Album

I have embedded an album sampler for my first album Solstice the Album, I named my album this because it is an indication of the 1st day of the Sun, or the beginning of the sun. So me being my mothers son, I thought to pay a kind of pilgrimage for her with my very first full release album.

I have also included a link directly to the original press release for the album, published on the release date 19th August 2007.

Please Enjoy.

A&R's & Artists worldwide

hi all,

I am in the process of completing my next album, Iv come up with quite a few names for the album, but as yet am undecided.
I am calling out to A&R's worldwide to get in touch (via my profile page- all contact details are there) as I am nearly finishing the sketches for my next album.

It will feature collaborations with many artists of every genre, but the the sole purpose of this album is Dance! Every industry and niche.
I have recorded and written 90 songs, and have picked what i believe are the strongest 15. So now over the next 8 to 10 weeks i will be completing them by collaborating with artists world wide.

I am looking for Rappers, Soul & RnB Singers, Sufi singers, and if possible some big ears to have a really good listen to the potential of this album, it certainly has world wide appeal.

I am also looking for financing - so to direct this album into mass distribution in all top 'physical' stores as well as all the top digital ones.

I really look forward to hearing from you.
